Collection: Patterned & Feature Tiles

Adding feature tiles or a patterned tile finish for floors or walls can be an amazing attention grabber for both residential and commercial spaces. Patterned tiles are imprinted with specific designs that create a repeating design motif across your chosen surface.

Alternatively, feature tiles offer unique shapes or designs which make them a focal point in their own right. For example, feature wall 3D tiles deliver an incredible textural quality to a space that standard tiles can’t match.

Feature Tiles & Pattern Tiles FAQs

Where are patterned tiles or feature tiles used?

Pattern and feature tiles can be used anywhere you want to create visual interest or a focus point.

There are many style of patterned tiles which are quite suitable as both floor tiles or wall tiles, as well as kitchen splashbacks, showers and bathrooms, or other area you want to add character to.

Feature tiles can be used to create a focal point in a space. These could be a contrasting row of tiles to break up an area of more standard tiles, a fireplace surrounds, a feature wall or anywhere you want to draw attention.

What is the difference between feature tiles and pattern tiles?

Patterned tiles typically include a design or motif that creates a repeating pattern across an area or surface. They are excellent for creating visual interest, texture and character. Patterns are usually quite geometric so that they align nicely when installed.

Some tile patterns are usable as wall or floor tiles for large areas such as kitchens or bathrooms, whereas others may be more suitable for smaller installations such as kitchen splashbacks or shower niches.

Feature tiles are designed to stand out, create visual impact and make a statement. Feature tiles can be patterned, but they may also be defined by interesting textures, bold colours or interesting shapes. they are often chosen as a contrast to the rest of a room.

Good examples for feature use are mosaic sheet tiles (especially unique shapes such as feather mosaics or penny rounds), stacked stone, or 3D texture tiles.

Do pattern and feature tiles cost more to install?

If the patterned tiles are a visual motif in a more standard tile size, installation costs should not be appreciably different than normal.

Pattern or feature tiles such as mosaic sheets, styles with multiple tile shapes that require careful alignment to create intricate patterns and other unusual material or shapes will likely cost more. Greater skill and precision is needed to install these types of tiles which is more time consuming.

Are patterned tiles difficult to maintain?

In most cases, pattern tiles are no more difficult to maintain than standard tiles. In some circumstances, the pattern itself may help to disguise dirt, stains and scuffs.
